A God Moment
On a busy city sidewalk
Someone is handing out these tracts.
You accept one nonchalantly...
It leads you to the Book of Acts.
You read how the church was birthed
With the breath of Pentecost,
When a miraculous God moment
Re-captured what these men had lost.
Yes, their leader had been captured...
Condemned and cruelly crucified.
With Him many of their hopes
Had been dashed away and died.
O, but He'd made them a promise
He'd send The Spirit in His place!
One more faith building God moment
Fell upon the human race!
Cowards soon became crusaders!
The fearful spoke out big and bold!
Because they had been filled with power
And would do what they'd been told!
They cast out devils, healed the sick,
Preached salvation to the poor!
Led by God's own Holy Spirit,
They performed what they'd trained for.
For The Spirit soon refreshed their minds
Of all that Jesus taught.
They turned religion upside down!
Brought works of men to naught!
The Church of Christ began to grow...
Converts were saved and freed
From the clutches of tradition...
From the ties of gain and greed.
The Word was spread throughout the world
And you've received that Word today.
Accept this life changing God moment...
O, please don't throw this chance away!
The little tract that you were handed
Was no coincidence at all.
You were meant for this God moment
It's up to you to heed His call.

My long time friend, Joan, wrote something
about a God Moment on her face book page...
Something clicked within my spirit and I knew
He had a poem in mind. It never ceases to amaze
me how God will bring an idea to fruition. I never
know where the next poem is coming from...or if
there will be another...then there is that click!
Joel 2:28-29
"It will come about after this That I will pour out My Spirit
on all mankind; And your sons and daughters will prophesy,
Your old men will dream dreams, Your young men will see visions.
"Even on the male and female servants I will pour out My Spirit in
those days.
Acts 11:16
"And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used
to say, 'John baptized with water, but you will be baptized
with the Holy Spirit.'
Matthew 16:18
I will build my church, and the gates of Hades
will not overpower it.
Acts1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit
has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in
Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and
to the farthest parts of the earth
Acts 9:31
Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria
experienced peace and thus was strengthened. Living in
the fear of the Lord and in the encouragement of the Holy Spirit,
the church increased in number
